well first of all i do want to say Happy Birthday Daniel!!!!!! hope that you have a great day!
ok... so on wed my mom told me that there was a message for me and joe on the machine from old country buffets human resources. so i called the lady back (this was a different one then the person i dealt with when i was fired.) the lady didnt even know that i didnt work there anymore. she was telling me that anything i said would not effect my job... anyways she was asking me about the overtime hours that i was not paid for and what manangers knew about what was happening and who was actually changing hours so that i wouldnt have overtime. so i said that marty the general manager was the one changing my hours. don one of the managers knew about it (cuz i heard them talking about it.) and kevin would clock everyone out at a certain time every night he closed, if they were done or not. so i guess they r going to be in a little bit of trouble! oh well! i may call that lady back and ask her if she does more for human resources then just stuff with the hours. but i havent decided yet.
so yesterday i went out to lunch with a couple of friends from ocb and then to grandmas. when i went out to my car to grab my work clothes to change into i didnt have my black button down shirt. so i had to go to the mall and had to go to express (i have a credit card for there i didnt have any cash on me) so i had to get a shirt for 40 dollars! so im probably just going to c if susan can use it for work... its a really nice shirt tho!
jenn and tricia - it was very nice talking with you both in the last week! cant wait to see you all!
bernadette - i def want to do the walk also. how is work going? and sam? any more accidents?
well i guess thats about it! i hope everyone has a wonderful day!
love and miss you all!

Roll with the changes.......
Hello Cousins! I know things have been slow on the blog, but I'm sure it's because we've all been getting every bit of summer out of these months that we can. For me, it seemed like last weekend was the last summer weekend. We celebrated Mia's birthday with a fun party and had a cookout.
On Tuesday, we had our first experience with starting school. Let me share that the first day of school is one that I imagined over 1000 times in my head. This summer alone, I thought about how it would be everyday...and everyday I cried- all I could think about was spending the last 6 years together all day, and now we had to separate for most hours. I hated that I couldn't yell out "how ya doin' honey?" while doing dishes and she yells back "Good, Mom. Just playing...or coloring..or dancing....." My thoughts were torturing me. (this is the part when I ask for Bernadette's expertise in referring a book on separation anxiety :o) I truly tortured and worried myself about not being with her. Although I never told her it was worrying me, by the time it was only a few days away, the poor kid thought I had terrible allergies because my eyes were so swollen and red. I even faked sneezing a few times when I needed tissues over and over again. (I'm telling ya, it was awful!!) - Well, the first day was really hard for me, but more importantly, She did FANTASTIC! She loved her day and her teacher. The 2nd day was just as good and a bit easier for me. Today, went quicker than the others and she is totally loving it. It's awesome how great she's adapted already. I hope it stays this way for her.
Sooooooo, that being our big news in my house, we did go on some really fun day trips to end the summer. We went to an amusement park, a couple of fairs, the movies, a sprinkler park by us and The Crayola Factory. My best friend and I even got out to the movies again, which is always fun for me.
Well, I hope everyone has a great Labor Day Weekend!! Oh, I forgot to mention that to add to my anxiety, we've had a bear in our neighborhood! A medium size black bear. It's gone thru our garbage a few times and last night, I watched it walk around our back yard for about 4 or 5 minutes. He's not afraid of noise, so the things I was trying to do to get him to go away didn't work. I talked with someone from our borough today and she said there's been a lot of calls from all over the area with sightings. Not what I think of as exciting... I'm pretty nerved out over everything, so it can go eat someone else's garbage. Oy!!!
Okay all, I'm heading inside to clean up. Have a good night!
love to you all!!

Good morning!
Hello!
Susan--thanks for the update! How was your camping trip? I hope you didn't see any big and scary animals, like a mouse (Ok they are not so big but to me, they are pretty scary!).
I'm back to school tomorrow at JC and the kids start daycare/preschool. I am a little nervous as to how I am going to get them ready and myself and be out of the house by 7. Hopefully it will all go smoothly.
I need to make us some breakfast. Bye!
Love,
Tricia

Hi!!
Hey everyone!! How's it going?
This will be quick, just answering a couple questions!
Bern, I definitely want to do that suicide walk. And I'm pretty sure Lauren will also (since she'll be in by then).
Speaking of Lauren, we do email eachother back and forth. I heard from her last week, and if this news hasn't spread yet, she is coming home Wed. Sept. 3. Alex did not get approved for his visa, so he is not coming with her then. She is going to see what she can do once she gets home to get him here. But those are my only updates as of now about her!
Alright, gotta get back to work!
Love you,
Susan

Hello!
Hi everyone!
Bernadette--I would love to walk in that walk but I have to see if I would be able to get out there that day. Dave has work so it is a long shot but I will see what I can do. It is a good cause.
Is Sam in his crate while you are at work? If not, it would be a good idea to crate him for awhile. If he is, it is unusual that he would pee in there. Usually they say that the crate is the dog's security place and they have an instinct not to pee there. You may want to try adjusting his eating and drinking in the morning. Some dogs get only one big meal a day, in your case it would work best at dinner time. Or maybe Bob can feed him when he gets up so that Sam has enough time to digest and completely go before you crate him again for the day.
As for our rules of ethics in PA, we are allowed to represent family. We only have conflicts when the judge or the opposing counsel is a family member in which case certain precautions have to be put in place or possibly, withdraw from the case.
Sarah--I will call you soon (or if you have time, give me a call) to finalize our plans. It is only two weeks away!
Susan--have fun camping and enjoy all your days out of the office! Those days are always such a welcomed break.
Mark--I think I saw on Yahoo news that the bar you used to work at was shut down for rat infestation and bugs. Glad you got out of there before that went down. lol...
Yesterday was Mia's birthday so last night after dinner we went to their house for birthday cake. She was having a great day. We have her actual party this weekend and Daniel's next weekend (everyone is welcome to come if you feel like driving in. There will be a very good cake so in my opinion, it is worth the drive. lol...)
I was in court yesterday morning for my first guilty plea and a surprise sentencing that I wasn't prepared to handle but it all went well. The attorney I covered for was pleased.
Daniel and I are going to make penne and vodka sauce. I have been craving it so I bought all the fixin's at the store today.
Hey--Mark--you mentioned you and Susan are going to Spain soon. Will Lauren still be there or will she be home by then? How is she? Has anyone talked to her?
Ok, take care all!
Love ya's,
Tricia

CALLING ALL COUSINS- SUICIDE WALK
Hi. I just remember- the Out of Darkness Suicide awareness walk sponsored by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (www.afsp.org) walk is September 14th at 10:30am in Delaware park. I am going to do this and either join UB's team or create my own if there are at least a few of the family members what would like to do this with me. The walk is free to register but you must register and you have to have a fundraising goal of at least $150 (but you won't be turned away if you don't reach that) I'll copy some more info into this email. Please let me know ASAP so I know whether to create a team for Aunt Deb or join UB's. And suggest a creative team name if we are going to start our own team. Thanks!!
There is NO registration fee to register for a 2008 Out of the Darkness Community Walk.
• Each participant is asked to set a minimum fundraising goal of $150. However, donations of any amount are
accepted and no one will be turned away. People may continue to donate to you until December 31, 2008.
• Feel free to make customized t-shirts for you, and/or your team. Be creative! Bring signs, banners etc.
• EVERYONE is welcome!
• Any participant five years and older is REQUIRED to register for the walk.
• The walk will take place RAIN or SHINE
• Most parks DO allow dogs. Please contact your local walk coordinator to verify.
The Out of the Darkness Community Walk is a 3-5 mile scenic walk taking place in more than 100 communities across the country this fall. Proceeds will benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, to fund research, education, survivor and awareness programs -- both to prevent suicide and to assist those affected by suicide.

Testing my patience
I love my dog- really, I do- but he is driving me a lil crazy. He has peed every day that i have gone back to work so far. I am not sure if he has not learned to hold it or if he is so out of whack because I am now gone for 9 hours and he needs to readjust or if he pees because he thinks we have abandoned him so he figures why not? No one will care. He acts hyper when Bob and I get home (usually around the same time) and runs around howling, looking for food. Poor thing. I think he just needs a few weeks to get the hang of me being gone now. I miss his cute lil face while I am at work though. I'll have to put a pic up.
Tricia- is your profession like mine, or are you able to consult/represent family/ friends in court or with legal advice? A family friend is coming to NU this semester and thinks she is going to see me for therapy. I will have to explain to her the professional laws and ethics that say why I can't, and keep to myself my personal reasons for not doing so. Not that I could see her even if I wanted to, but I definitely don't want to :)
I have to meet next week with a retirement company rep ( not sure what he is called) to go over retirement options. It seems to weird to be doing this but better to start early! And NU puts in a nice %, so its worth beginning as early as possible. I had to wait a year of employment to be eligible and today is one year exactly! Well, minus the two months off but I began last August on the 20th.
As fo the wedding, I cannot wait!! My mom is going to have a shower at her house I think, and maybe coordinate with Grace's aunt. Not sure when yet, but most likely a saturday in october from what i hear.
Mark- I had no idea you are leaving Mazz's. No more text messages saying "roll through!" I am glad I got to see you there the one time i came in with everyone.
Susan- have an awesome time camping! I hope the weather is nice. DO you stay in tents?
My dad and I are going to a nutrition seminar tonight at my gym- put on my Sharon Lawrence?? No idea who she is but supposedly she is well known and knowledgable.
Ok, gotta finish lunch and update my At-A Glance which I am weirdly excited about because my new one just came in!
Luv ya's

Goodafternoon!
Hi! How is everyone? Just sitting at work right now, not really doing much work though....I am just not in the mood for it lately! haha oh well...
So I am super excited for this weekend, it is our annual camping trip. This year we are going to Cranberry Lake in the Adirondacks. Jeff and I always go with this other couple, and we invited a second couple we know like 6 months ago. Their answer was yes up until last week, and now the guy has some teacher orientation at school. I thought it was kind of rude of them to wait until a week before we leave to tell us they couldn't go, considering if they told us earlier, we could've asked somebody else to go. So there will just be 4 of us going, which is still fun, but it's always better with more people. I am still very excited to go though...especially because I get to be off of work from Monday until Wednesday. And then next Thursday is the Bills home preseason game, so I have that to look forward to all day at work, and then Friday I have a continuing education course in Rochester all day so I won't be in the office, and Monday is Labor Day so we're off! How does life get any better when I am only in the office 1 day out of 10?! hahah
So the news over here is that Kristy and Amber will be in November 4 - 11 for Uncle Dave's wedding.....anybody know when everybody else is coming? Or is it too far in advance for dates?
Well, I guess I better do some work now, considering I really haven't done much of anything today yet....haha
Love you,
Susan

I've Been around...I am officially done at Mazz's. I cut down to one day a week and they kept pressuring me for more. So they told me since i could only work one day a week that it was pointless for them to keep me on the schedule. So now my goal is to make them go out of business...lol..Did you hear there are rats in the kitchen and fruit flies in the liquor...? I didn't but i wasn't sure if you heard...lol...
Trish- Glad to hear that you are our family trial lawyer. I'll be calling you soon...lol...j/k...i stay out of trouble.
Susan and i are getting pretty excited becuase we go to spain in less than 3 months...its pretty sweet...Can't wait to explore europe...
Kristy- did you need money for the video? If so how much? gotta keep us in check...
Well thats it for now

Hi Bernadette! It sounds like a good time for you to go back to work. You get a few days to kind of just get back in the routine before having clients.
The attorney I am working for has clients in about 6 counties all surrounding our county. The farthest is about an hour and a half. So yes, I get paid the hour or two that I would be in the car plus however long I am actually working. I would not be able to do it otherwise with the price of gas.
I am glad that Stephanie's shower was nice and that she got some nice gifts. She is due soon, right?
Well, I have to get ready for in-service. I need to shower and iron...talk to you later!

I am here Tricia
Hi!!
Yes, I am back to work as of last friday. Yes, I came back on a friday. We count 60 days from our first day off (I am collectively speaking for those on 10-months like myself) so it happened that 60 days off meant going back on a friday. As soon as I got to work, I had to go to a meeting where I was the speaker. Lol... I got to work early to prepare. Good times! Not much going on this week though. RA's have moved in and I do a 1.5 hour training with them tomorrow but classes do not begin until next monday so i probably won't have any clients until then. I will also have a doc student trainee from my grad program begin next week, so for this week I am just catching up on emails and paperwork and mail and trying to study...
Tricia- so exciting about your new pt job in the court! and you get paied hourly for driving! what is the farthest you may have to drive? will this be the first time you have worked in a court? Let us know how it goes.
Stephanie's shower was nice but a little long. Over 3 hours. Grandma was getting antsy! She got some nice things... Kaylee will be well dressed, thats for sure, especially on Halloween. She got 3 or 4 halloween outfits! They were cute.
Well, I hope there is more chatter on here soon.

Hello everyone!
Good morning Cousins!
How are you all doing? We are doing well here. We were in Gettysburg for a few days last week for a conference. The conference was fantastic and the area is nice. We all enjoyed the getaway.
I am getting ready to start classes up again. I have in service today, all week actually, but today is the only mandatory one for me so I may not go to the others. I also got another job. I met with an attorney last week that I know from my clerkship from 4 years ago. I always thought he was one of the few attorneys that really knew what he was doing and took the job seriously. Anyway, he needed an attorney to make court appearances for him so he can use his time to prepare for trials, etc. So, when his cases are ready to go to court for things like arraignments, pre-trial conferences, guilty pleas etc. things that are kind of routine, I will take them to court for him. Most of the time spent will be driving because he works out of about 6 counties so I will get paid per hour to drive to the courthouse, wait my turn, handle the brief matter before the judge, then drive home. It will give me experience in the courtroom and to get the hang of things which is priceless. I think it is a good match for right now. I figure I will do this for 6 months or so and then I should be comfortable to take on more and when I am, I will let him know and we'll go from there. I was hoping for a more active position to earn more money but realistically this works better because I do not have daycare available full time yet. So, that's that. I now have 4 part time jobs. Hopefully by this time next year I can trade them all in for one full time position!
Sarah--are you having coffee this morning? Are you watching tv with Cooper? How is your mom?
Bernadette--back to work now?
How was Stephanie's shower? I hope she got a lot of useful things for the baby.
Susan, Mark, Kristy, Jenn....where are you guys?

Birthdays, birthdays, and more birthdays...
August is the month of birthdays! Dave turned 30 yesterday, we have Amber's, Mike's, Mia's and Daniel's all coming up. Did I miss anyone?
So, for Dave's birthday the kids and I went out and bought balloons and streamers to decorate the house while Dave was at work. We also bought cupcakes from this great bakery. Dave hates having attention on his birthday (although he will gladly accept presents.. :-) so I had the entire house decorated both inside and out so that when he pulled up after work with the guys from his carpool he would get embarrassed. It worked perfectly!
I also made him a great dinner. We didn't do presents for our birthdays this year because our gift to each other is going to the beach in a few weeks.
Bernadette--enjoy your trip. Is the baptism at the Adirondacks?
Tonight we are heading out for a family night at the college I teach at. It should be a fun time.

I'm leaving, on a jet plane
Ok, so not a jet plane, more like Bob's pick up truck, which he is currently trying to fit two kayaks and his small boat in the back. Today we leave for the Adirondacks for the week. I am leaving soon to take Sam to the kennel. I will miss his cute face. The weather looks crappy today and tomorrow but should clear up some for the next few days. Hope its sunny at least a few days. We have lucked out with the weather there the past 10 years or so, so I am staying optimistic. Tomorrow we have baby Molly Grace's baptism (billy and Jen's baby) and then a breakfast party so that should be fun.
Well, I should get the dog ready and then I have to come home, finish getting my stuff and myself ready, and hit the road!
Hope everybody has a good week. Someone give g'ma a hug for me sunday. Thanks.
