Good morning Cousins!
We had such a nice weekend! Yesterday afternoon, once everyone left, Mia & Gianna kept whining saying, "I want them to come back. I miss them." They loved having company. Mike & I kept talking about how nice it was to have you all here and we loved that you stayed overnight. He was totally impressed with the air matress and said he's going to buy a couple and a pump. But, I forgot to show you guys the Thomas tent! Oh well, next time.
I was so worried about you guys traveling back!! Sarah, great driving! The link that Bernadette posted is a different direction from where you were traveling, but I saw pictures of it on Good Morning America! I couldn't believe it....very sad. Mike said the traffic you guys got caught up in was a truck that jack-knifed around the Waverly area which is exactly where Bernadette called me from to let me know you were stopped. The whiteouts must have been awful driving thru since it was amazingly windy. I'm just glad the trip is over and you all are home safe.
You know, NYC is only about 2 to 2&1/2 hrs. from us. If anyone could ever spend a Friday night thru Sunday here, we could drive to NYC Saturday morning and spend the day there. We could come back here that night and spread out the driving so it wouldn't be too hard. Tricia and I have been trying to plan a daytrip there, but it's been hard with the kids. I'm sure we'd work out something if anyone was up for it, though.
Bernadette, you and Bob should come up! I know you mentioned the hotel your parents used to stay at, but our door is always open, too. And, Sarah, if you guys wanted to come out with your mom, it would make my mother's day. She'd love it! My mom has an extra bedroom at her house if your mom wanted to sleep in a bed and spend time with her and whoever else wanted to stay here could definitely crash. Tricia & I loved spending Saturday night out with everyone. (I still get all giggly when I think about no kneecaps!) Sorry for those cousins who have no idea what I'm talking about, but to explain now would make no sense.
Well, Mia's school got cancelled today since the elementary kids are on a delayed scheduled. She was disappointed that she couldn't show off her new haircut that Sarah gave her. Her hair looks awesome Sarah, thank you so much for remembering. It made her so happy.
Susan- don't work too hard hun! And, you cracked me up with the story about wrapping yourself around a tree to hold on to Jeff's dog. I'm giggling thinking about it.
Lauren- We all are so glad we got to see you while you were home. I hope you had fun here and be sure to get your address to me. The girls will send you pictures! Enjoy the rest of your time in B-lo!! We'll probably call next Sunday during breakfast.
What did everyone else do this past weekend? I hope it was fun for all! Bernadette, tell Bob thanks for being a weekend bachelor again for your Pa. cousins! :o)
Okay, I keep rambling more & more. I'll check in later. I'm going to get the girls lunch. They're hooked on Sunchips that I bought for Susan, but she barely got any!! I should have sent them home with you guys!! (the chips I mean, not the kids.....but, on the other hand...oh, that's awful of me. j/k!!)
