For Tricia

Hey there.

Have I told you that I have had multiple nightmares about school shootings since reading that book? I am about halfway done and almost decided not to read last night but did anyway. I love it but things like that are not good for my subconscious.

Anyway, about my "crisis." its funny you should ask, because some people I work with seem to throw that term around, usually I do not so I would not have considered the person I saw to be in crisis, but she walked down with a friend and felt she needed to talk with someone, so I saw her since i was the only one here, and tend to take people who feel they are in crisis anyway. She was not my client, and although she felt in crisis, I would not clinically say she was. The criteria I would usually use to refer to someone being in crisis would be suicidal, homicidal, psychotic, recently been assaulted, being threatened by someone, or just heard bad news such as illness, loss of a loved one or someone who is worried about the safety of someone else... .. We used to have so many students walk in while I was at USF stating that they needed to be seen right away because they were "in crisis" that the receptionist was given a bulleted document of criteria for crises by the director...so students would have to read that and eitehr be seen if they were indeed in crisis or make an appointment. Most of the "crises" I see are not what I stated above, but nonetheless they feel they are in crisis.

Hope this answers your question!

Where is your exam? In Philly?
