Good morning to all!

Good morning everyone!  I hope you all had a good night.  I was up late correcting papers, then cleaning, and then it was just about time for Dave to get home so I waited up for him.  Luckily, the kids both slept until 7! Woohoo!!

I think Daniel is feeling a little sick.  Nothing much but he told me last night that his "tongue hurt" while pointing to his throat.  I checked it out and he had swollen glands. Other than that, though, he seems fine.

Susan--I think you should demand a 10 minute break per hour so that you can post at least once an hour here! lol...  I meant to tell you that I bought vegetarian chicken nuggets (Boca) at the store the other day along with salad fixings so that I can try out your favorite recipe!  I may have it today.  I haven't had meat since last Tuesday or Wednesday.  I do need more ideas for meals without meat.  I've made pasta and vodka sauce, three bean chili, veggie burgers (I like Amy's...I think that is the brand) and hummus (grandma's recipe) with wheat pita's (they are my favorite, I get them almost every week).

Sarah--How's tv this morning?  We watch PBS every morning so feel free to join us for Sesame Street or Curious George if Saved by the Bell isn't any good.  lol...  How was your long day?

Where the heck is Amber???

Kristy--did you watch Brothers & Sisters from Sunday?  I really love Robert and also Kevin.  Their characters are great.

Jenn--have you watched the news at all?  Are we supposed to get a big storm this weekend?  I never get to see the news; then again they are rarely right anyway.

So, I have this student in my online class who has been a problem from day one.  She didn't turn in work on time and was just doing poorly but has accused me and the rest of the class for her poor performance.  Students pick an essay topic in week 1 and use that topic to complete each week's assignment.  Each assignment is one step towards the final project of writing an essay.  So in week 8 they do their rough draft but if they do all the work each week, their draft is pretty much done and they just need to correct the things I pointed out over the course of the previous weeks.  Well, this girl didn't do too many of her assignments and then at the beginning of the last week tells me she is changing her topic because there is no information available for her topic.  Of course I told her she could not change her topic this late in the class and that had she done all her work, she would have figured this out earlier.  And, that I found it hard to believe that there isn't any information out there (I know there is).  She claims that she could not find information that met her high standards.  So, of course she doesn't turn in her final project on time and the school's policy is that we cannot accept a late final for any reason.  So I gave her a zero and now she is fighting me about it telling me that the school told her I can accept it.  She's full of crap but it gets on my nerves anyway.

I'm getting aggravated just typing about it.  I'll be back later...
