Hello again!
We have lots of snow, about 8 inches. They said we'd get about 3-6. Saturday night into Sunday we are supposed to get another 12 inches. I'm home for the day but Dave just left for work. He was supposed to call me when he got there, which, of course, he did not. Hopefully he is fine. He usually forgets to call when he says he will.
Bar exam--there are lots of study programs available. The most popular is a lecture course where you get about 10 books and go to daily lectures in the month leading up to the exam. I did not take this one because the lectures are not available in Scranton. I took a different course that gave me about 8 study books and it has an online portion too. The bar exam is 200 multiple choice, called the multi state because every state gives that same test. In PA it is on the second day. The first day is 6 essays which covers only PA law. So, the program I bought has review materials for all subjects, practice essays, and online, interactive multiple choice practice questions. On top of that, I contacted the Director of Bar Services at my law school and he is working with me. He gives me essays to do and then corrects them and gives me feedback. I had been doing ok but the past two weeks with my classes all ending, I have had a ton of correcting to do and submitting final grades so I have studying on hold some. Tomorrow I will get back into it since I finished all the grades. I am also taking a lecture course for 6 days that covers the topics the multiple choice focuses on. That is offered in Harrisburg, so from Dec. 26-31 I will be driving to Harrisburg everyday (about 2 hours) to attend the lectures. I think it will be worthwhile though. I am really trying this time. I took the exam in the past but I didn't study as much as I should. This time, I am studying as much as I can, which by what people recommend, still isn't enough but hopefully it will work out. They recommend you study at least 40 hours a week for the 6 to 8 weeks leading up to the exam. They say to make it your full time job and study all day as if you were at work. As it gets closer, I am hoping to find the time to do something close to that. We'll see, right?
What are you doing now? Still trying to work on the taxes? I hope you are falling down any more steps? And where the heck is Mark these days? And Kristy too...she was here regularly for awhile.
